New Search and Lightbox Features: We recently completed two website features that can be used to sell images.
A search bar can be added to your site where clients can search for images you have keyworded:

A lightbox can be added to your site where clients can select images either from a search or off your site and send you a link to inquire about purchasing:
Inquiry button: Your site comes with a shopping cart looking button that when pressed will bring up a contact form so someone can inquire about purchasing a particular image. This is on your navbar and will appear under all the images on your site when activated. Here’s a help page on how to set that up:

Image gallery. You can always create a gallery with images you have for sale and a text page with prices and contact information. Here are a couple of good examples of that:

Fotomoto Integration. For many years we’ve had Fotomoto (3rd party image sales tool) integrated into our software. You have to sign up for a subscription with Fotomoto: https://www.fotomoto.com then you can find instructions for the integration here: https://support.aphotofolio.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001617133-Fotomoto-Integration

3rd Party Software.
You can easily link off your site to a 3rd party store and for years I’ve recommended BigCartel for this: https://www.bigcartel.com
It’s a very affordable option for 300 products or less and they even have a free option for 5 products.
Here’s an example of someone linking to their BigCartel store:

Another simple solution is GumRoad: https://gumroad.com
You can see it being used here:

If you need something super robust I recommend Shopify: https://www.shopify.com
It can be as complicated or simple as you want and can certainly be designed to match your website.
Here’s a site that links to a Shopify store: https://www.samjonespictures.com
You can always embed a PayPal button on a text page with a few images if you just need something to sell a book or whatnot.
Here’s an example of that:
