Submitting a Sitemap to Google

New domain or website? Recently added custom Titles and Captions (alt text) to your Images? You probably want to get those changes indexed by Google bots.

Good News, you're on the right support page

You will begin by accessing your existing Google account or by creating a free account at Google: https://search.google.com/search-console/

1.) Find the + ADD A PROPERTY option (usually in the top left) and start the process of adding your domain. 

2.) In the Pop-up window that appears, select Domain on the left side:

3.) Enter: domain.com (replace with your actual public domain name)

4.) Then click the "CONTINUE" button

5.) Next is the VERIFICATION Process. Copy the TXT record and send it to support.

6.) After the support team adds your TXT record, select VERIFY

7.) In the left-hand menu of the Google Search Console account, locate the Indexing menu, select Sitemaps


8.) In the empty field at the end of your domain name, type in the following exactly: sitemap.xml

9.) Now click the "SUBMIT" button to submit the sitemap.

Once submitted, please allow 7-21 business days for Google bots to crawl your site pages. Not all pages will be indexed immediately, it takes time for Google to compile their information.
