If your email is provided by your domain registrar (i.e. where you bought your domain name) you can keep it with them (godaddy.com, networksolutions.com, etc…). and still make your site live with photofolio.
You can make your site live (and leave email where it is currently hosted) by creating or modifying an "A record" for your domain to point to the IP address your site is hosted on with photofolio. (Note: If you use this method to go live you don't need to change your nameservers.) There are two steps:
- Contact PhotoFolio Support: support@photofolio.com and tell them the domain you will be using with your site (e.g. robhaggart.com). Do not complete the next step until you hear back from support.
- Login or contact your domain name registrar and create an "A" record pointing to our servers. The IP address you want to use is: 148.62.5.7
Important. You also need to make sure a cname for the www record is pointing to the regular domain without the www. Commonly this is the @ symbol in domain registrars.
If none of this makes sense to you just contact your domain registrar on the phone and ask them to walk you through the changes above.
